Notes from the county library
I am writing this from a computer at the library. It’s a small branch, so it will feature mostly novels with guns, swords, or heart-stopping romances where the cowboy gets the girl. You won’t find the more literary books that end with the author reminding you that none of this is real and life is stupid.
The keyboard is a Dell. I thought Dell had gone the way of the white buffalo with Blockbuster, Toys R Us, and Lemony Snicket, but there is one Dell keyboard still in use at the Corryton branch of the Knoxville library.
Perhaps this keyboard was a “hammedown” from the high school, where the number-one typed word was “bikini” and the IT guy made his money’s worth installing content blockers.
