I've got two announcements
I've got two announcements:
1.) This website is offering paid subscriptions.
Woah, paid? You're not that good of a writer, bud. Who do you think you are? John Grisham?
Well, thank you, but no need to worry: Everything will be free as a water cup (Also, how good was The Firm?).
It gives me so much joy writing these stories and hearing people say they enjoyed them. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it. I am offering a way for you all to support my writing while keeping the stories free.
But with paid subscriptions coming, I wanted to find a way to offer more so:
2.) I'm making a Stories Talk Good podcast!
But Sam, what is the STG Podcast?
I'm so glad you asked and abbreviated STG. It's a podcast where I do more of the same: share good stories but presented in audio form.
Episodes will include but are not limited to:
Spirited readings of STG stories complete with sounds and music (The drama!).
Interviews where we all make a new friend who shares their story, a song, a poem, a recipe, a place, etc. (The friendship!)
YOUR STORIES
My stor!— Woah now. Did I hear you say "your stories"?
Yes! There will be an option for you to have a story of your own recorded.
Do you have a story in your family that you want to keep forever? It could be yours, your aunt Candace's, or your buddy Ron's. My grandfather loves to talk about the night in 1974 when the high school football team he coached beat Kingsport. I want to keep it forever. If you have such stories, I'd love to help you record them.
I can only guarantee some of these stories will be featured on the show, but I will provide a digital copy for you to keep.
This sounds amazing. How do I subscribe?
Easy. Here:
The podcast will be released first right here on Substack. So, if you're already subscribed, you'll have access to it. And no, it will not be behind a paywall. Everything here is free: the paid subscription option is a way to support my writing. Soon, the podcast will also be listed in directories like Apple Podcasts and Spotify. But each episode will be posted on Substack first.
The "Tell Your Story" option will be for what Substack calls a "Founding Member" and will be $100 to pay for producing the podcast.
Whether you choose to go paid or not, I'm just happy you're here. Every read/like/comment/share is a gift; with everything I have, thank you.
